From its inception in 1999, the image of mobile phone operator Orange Switzerland was intended to be fresh, modern, and elegant. It was associated with a citrus fruit, conveniently forgetting that this color was the everyday color of garbage collectors. Two years after the creation of this subsidiary of the British group, the color of the Guantánamo detainees' uniforms was prominently featured in the media.

Orange GTMO provides the formula for this chromatic collusion. It was again the sale, notably by this operator, of wallpapers and ringtones that led to the ironic association of images of the Guantánamo camp with stereotypical sounds freely available on the internet. This truly 'idiotic' combination resulted in the production of twenty-one sleeves containing a CD on which the materials used were burned.
