The project originated from the downloading of 242 photographs of red Ferraris from a car classifieds website on December 21, 2008. The color of a single pixel from the car bodywork, in each of these photos, was then used to create a sample of a scottish fabric. The car's ID on the classifieds website and the Ferrari model serve as the reference for each sample.

Le téléchargement de deux-cent quarante-deux photographies de Ferrari de couleur rouge sur un site d'annonces automobiles, le 21 décembre 2008, constitue la source du projet. Le prélèvement sur la carrosserie de la voiture de la teinte d'un seul pixel, sur chacune de ces photos, a été utilisé ensuite pour créer l'échantillon d'un tissu écossais. L'ID de la voiture sur le site d'annonces et le modèle de la Ferrari constituent la référence de chaque échantillon.
